This testimonial is long over due, having been caught up with the Hifi journey, I completely forgot to do the honorable thing and submit a review, so here goes the first of three reviews I will be submitting for different pieces of Musical Fidelity Equipment that Mr Sampson has worked his magic on.
I first contacted Mr Sampson after purchasing a couple of A3 amplifiers that had been described as serviced from what I can only class as an unscrupulous Seller. I connected these amplifiers on a previously purchased A3 Pre Amplifier and found them not so excitable in any means, they sounded ok but I wouldn’t say the soundstage was anything special. Feeling a bit deflated with the purchase, I spoke with Mr Sampson and given I am the sort of person who likes their equipment to be in the best condition it can be, I opted for the Stage 2 Upgrade on the Pre and Power Amps.
Mr Sampson arranged the collection and delivery of the equipment so everything went super smooth in that aspect. Once all the equipment was plugged in and running, I left the system on for many days playing in the background in an effort to run in the new components. After a week I now decided to do some listening, what I now was experiencing was a sound I never had before and struggling to go to bed. I was now enjoying what I was hearing, everything sounded so much better, much open and great detail. These newly rebuilt pieces of equipment were providing me a great deal of pleasure, I believe this is a lot of Hifi for a relative low cost, clearly a great design that has only been improved upon by Mr Sampson. If you own an A3 setup then I thorougly recommend that you send it to JS Audio, it will be the best money you will spend unless you are looking to spend over £10k or more to get something that sounds like an upgrade.
My Musical Fidelity Journey has excelled some what since I purchased these A3 amplifiers and I currently use these amplifiers in my bedroom, nevertheless they just keep sounding better and better. Do I recommend Mr Sampson, without a shadow of doubt, a real gentlemen who knows his onions, would I go anywhere else? I don’t like gambling with my money.
