I picked my Musical Fidelity Xpre/Xdac/XLP&Xpsu up from John today. It went to John with a bad high pitched hum via the XLP. The rest was working but the sound was fairly muddy when running a CD transport through the dac. I have reinstalled it all and the difference is amazing, particularly when running my Turntable (RP6/Ania Pro) which i was concerned about because it doesnt have a ground wire to connect to the phono stage. I am literally hearing detail i didn’t before and there is real seperation beween the instruments
My advice is that when John asks do you want an upgrade, say yes! The improvement in components etc since these units were made is clearly huge.
