Magnificent Improvement

I had previously owned many incarnations of Musical Fidelity equipment, cd players, amps, a dac and even a large pair of floor standing speakers. As you can imagine I love the MF sound. I decided to take the plunge and buy a preowned MF Nu-Vista 800 Amp from ebay in October2021. I also acquired a brand new MF Nu-Vista 800 CD Player to keep the synergy. However the CD player kept breaking down, I had a replacement which was no better.
However I knew upgrades to MF equipment were available as I had this done to my A5 Integrated and A5 CD Player. So I decided to cut my losses and trade the repaired Nu-Vista 800CD Player and buy a preowned bullet proof Esoteric K-03X SACD Player. I digress.
I knew there was probably more performance to be wrung out of my Amp. After a little research, I came upon John Sampson’s website and contacted him. Finding him to be very knowledgeable about diverse aspects of hi fi he recommended a Stage 2 Upgrade with the caveat that it may take even up to a year for the full picture to emerge.
Oh my, how he was right. I do not subscribe to vinyl (sorry) , I have approximately 2000 cd’s and 360 sacd’s which I tend to prefer. When I use the Esoteric SACD Player with a Esoteric G-02 Clock Keces IQRP 3600 Power Conditioner feeding Avalon Ascendant loudspeakers, the magic happens. Even when I use my Yamaha CD S2100 midrange pricewise SACD player I find myself in raptures. I find the biggest improvement is in bass heft, separation and tonality, all of which have improved immensely. One big thank you John. I can’t ever seeing myself replacing this amp!
